"Here for a mission?" Tsunade asked, propping her still half-asleep self up in her chair. "Oh, sure, one second..." Wiping the dribble from her chin, the Lady Hokage looks you over, then digs through the pile of papers on one side of her desk, finally pulling out a thick document, laden with pictures of vicious looking black butterflies and a black-haired busty woman surrounded by butterflies.
"Lately, there has been an population spike of Hell Butterflies near Konohagakure. If you read this," Tsunade slides a sheet of paper over to you, "you will see that these butterflies are extremely dangerous. As they near death, they land upon the first thing they can get to, such as a rock or a leaf, and burst into flame. We have had numerous fires over the years because of these Hell Butterflies, and with the population rising rapidly like it is, it could be a disaster for Konohagakure if even one butterfly burst into flame in our village."
Clearing her throat to disguise a yawn, Tsunade blinked the sleep from her eyes and continued, "That's why I need you to escort the head of the Kochou Clan, Mari Kochou, to Konohagakure, to see if she can get the Hell Butterflies to stay away from our village."
"However..." Tsunade's tired face suddenly turned grave. "There seems to be someone out there who is using magic to speed up the Hell Butterfly's metamorphosis. She is even shortening their lifespans so they will burn quicker. We have tried to send out jounin, and even a squad of ANBU Black Ops to take her out, but to no avail. They have all been found, either half-dead and infested with Hell Butterfly caterpillars, or burned to death." Digging through the document, Tsunade finds a picture of a white-haired, busty woman. "Naahra von Lohengrin. She seems to be the one behind this. However, we have seen from past dealings with Naahra, both as an ally and an enemy, that she is a force to be reckoned with. She can summon up powerful beasts with the wave of a hand...and..." she shook her head, not wanting to continue.
"Anyway, it's up to you to escort Mari here, without her dying, of course, and see what she can do about the Hell Butterflies. If possible, you may also try to kill Naahra von Lohengrin, but I would not advise that, considering you could all easily die against her..."
Leaning back in her chair, Tsunade propped her feet up on her desk and pushed the whole document closer to you. "So...are you up for it?"

(Can I join this? I would love to. This sounds fun, and your new Mari character sounds cooly dangerous!)

((Of course you can join! I wouldn't NOT let you join! <3
So...I'll be Mari, Naahra, and possibly Ouka (provided Naahra doesn't just kill her out of rage).))

(Hmm...I'm probably just going to be Team 42. My problem is that I have a fair few characters, but they all revolve around my main team, so it's really tough to play anyone else and NOT my main team. It's like in the Naruto anime, how it would be tough to carry a plotline with none of the Team 7 members in the group.
So yeah, I'll just be Jinzou, Tsuta, Oni, and Kansuu. Should I just start as if the team's been spoken to by Tsunade, and they're accepting the mission?)

(I'll just start that way. If that's wrong, please correct me.)
Kansuu picked up the picture of the butterfly, and then Naahra, and then rifled through the document, pulling out a small bio of this Mari. He simply glanced at each, and then passed them to his Genin. "She's hot." Oni commented, pointing at Naahra's picture. "Are you crazy?" Tsuta asked incredulously. "She's old! And evil." "Doesn't detract from her being hot. What do you think, Jinzou?" "I've seen better." Jinzou replied, discreetly glancing toward Tsuta. Oni then flipped to Mari's picture. "Again, she's hot." "Again, are you crazy?" "Again, I've seen better."
Kansuu looked at the three of them. "Are you sure you want to assign us the mission?" he asked Tsunade. He shrugged, not waiting for a response, and looked through the file. "So, what connection does Naahra von Lohengrin have to the Hell Butterflies?" He looked through the document some more. "And where does this Mari character live?"

Tsunade, opening her eyes again, yawned and looked up at Kansuu. "Yeah, according to what I've read, Naahra von Lohengrin apparently created the Hell Butterflies when she made..." Leaning up, she plucked a part of the heavy-looking document up and began flipping through it, finally coming to a vicious-looking bright red caterpillar. "These. They were made to guard her home which, as you should know, is not far from the village. They have a poisonous bite, and feed on flesh from humans and animals." Taking a deep breath, Tsunade continued on. "As all caterpillars do, they eventually turn into butterflies, which are these Hell Butterflies that now threaten our village. Naahra von Lohengrin is very close to them, and, since she had realized that we are out to take them away from our village, she has become extremely angry over them." Leaning back in her chair, Tsunade placed the papers back on the desk and closed her eyes again.
"And, as you should see in the document, it says she lives right outside of Kusagakure. There's a palace that's home to the noble Kochou clan. She lives there..." Laughing silently, the Lady Hokage placed her hands behind her head and yawned. "And I think you four can handle it. Based on what I've heard, Kansuu..." Tsunade opened one eye and grinned, "Your genin are quite powerful, and work well together...with any luck, all three could easily become chuunin next time the exams come around..."

Kansuu looked back at his team. "Well, one can always hope. Eh, come to think of it, they are pretty good at teamwork. Well, if nothing else this mission will do to free us of our boredom. It's been slow recently. So, if there's nothing else you need to inform us of, I suppose we'll be off." He tipped his hat, and turned back to his Genin. The group walked through the large door, and set to prepare for the mission.
"I still say that even if she's older, it doesn't mean she isn't attractive." Oni protested. "If you're judging from a non-biased point of view, I suppose she is. I just find it disturbing that you take an interest in a woman so much older than yourself." Tsuta replied. "I wasn't taking an interest! I was merely stating my first opinion." "And it's that first opinion that worries me. Wait, which one are you talking about?" "That one." "That's the evil one!" "Doesn't matter." "Well, she could be using magic to make herself look better. Not every girl is naturally beautiful." Tsuta fluttered her eyelashes in an obviously affected, flirtatious way. "I'd probably agree. If only we knew where to find a naturally beautiful girl to compare. I can't seem to find any around here." Oni replied with a mischivous grin. Tsuta lightly punched him on the shoulder. Jinzou decided not to put himself into this conversation. "So, Kansuu-sensei, where did Tsunade-sama say this Mari Kochou lives?" the tech-nin asked. "The outskirts of Kusa." "Yes?" Tsuta looked up. "What?" "What?" "You said yes." "You said my name." "No, I meant Kusagakure. Not Kusa as in Kusa, Tsuta." "Oh, sorry then." Tsuta went back to bickering with Oni. "Anyway, on the outskirts of the Hidden Grass Village." "And she's some expert with butterflies?" Jinzou asked again. "Supposedly." "Do we have any personality bios?" "No, just family history. Apparently she's the leader of her clan, after the previous leader passed away." "I hate escorting people, because every time we do they turn out to be mean, and snobby, and annoying." "I thought you guys met when you escorted Oni to Kumo?" "And he was mean, and snobby, and annoying. Still is." This time Oni punched Jinzou in the shoulder. "Well, no use standing around chatting. Best go get your equipment, and meet me back at the gate." Kansuu told them. The team nodded, and dashed off in their respective directions.
(Um, if you're going to be Mari, Naahra, and Ouka, how are you going to involve yourself in the rp while Team 42 is going to Kusa in the first place?)

"Oh, since you asked about personality, I'll relay something else to you guys..." Tsunade said, opening one eye again. "From what I've heard, she's pretty flirtatious, and loves drinking and smoking... She's also, from the rumors I've picked up, an expert in..." she paused, her one eye looking over Jinzou, Tsuta, and Oni, then closed her eye again. She was going to say more, but it seemed the others had gone off already. Smiling to herself, Tsunade tilted her head back, getting back to the sleep that she desired to have. Deep within the forests east of Konohagakure, the screams of peasants could be heard as they were, literally, being eaten alive by Hell Butterfly larvae. The bright red caterpillars landed on the people as they walked through the woods, falling victim to the worm's poisonous bite and slowly dying as they began to be devoured alive by the creatures. Sitting up in a tree that had split its boughs just so (it appeared to be like a chair), a beautiful, ivory-haired woman sat, her legs crossed and her eyes locked on the struggling and screaming peasants. Laughing, Naahra leaned her head back, staring up at the Hell Butterflies that flittered about her, occasionally landing and giving their wings a little rest before lighting off again. One butterfly that landed on her thigh was greeted by a soft stroking before it was turned a bright red and fluttered off. The 'Hades Butterflies' as she called these red ones, not only burst into flame when they died, but they were like a phoenix. From the ashes of whatever they burned, anywhere from one to thousands of larvae would come forth. However, these larvae would become normal Hell Butterflies, and not Hades Butterflies, but that was no matter. She'd just create one or two Hades Butterflies at a time, and just let nature take its course... ((I may have Amari come along as well, just for kicks, or because she may think Kansuu and his little gang may need help. ^o^))

~A flirty drinker and smoker. This should be an interesting few days.~ Kansuu shrugged, thinking back to what he had heard Tsunade say as they left.
It wasn't long before Team 42 had come back from their preparations. "Are you ready to go, guys?" their sensei asked. "Yep, I'm set." Jinzou replied. "Same here." "Me too." "So, here we go. Off to Kusa. It's...this way." Kansuu told them.
The group began to dash off toward the Hidden Grass Country. It wasn't long though before they heard a cry. Turning, they headed off in the direction they heard the sound, but they found no source. "Ooh, look at that. It's pretty." Jinzou pointed at a fluttering red butterfly. "AH! Is that one of the Hell Butterflies?!?" Oni cried. "No...the Hell Butterflies are black. That one's red. So...it's a normal butterfly?" Tsuta suggested. "I'm feeling edgy around any butterfly. I suggest we go." Kansuu told them.

Naahra listened as she heard footsteps, and knew that there was more fresh meat out there for her beloved caterpillars. Though she would love to see the newcomers die at the fangs of her Hell Butterfly larvae, she didn't want to make her appearance just yet. Pinching her forefinger and thumb together on both hands, Naahra drew them together, then pulled them apart, as if she were pulling a length of thread tight, then shook her arms like she was shaking out a rug or a sheet. A shimmering white cloth, her Shroud of Snow, as she called it, appeared in her hands. Draping it around her, Naahra watched as she became invisible and literally blended into her surroundings.
"Now, my sweets..." she thought, her magic transferring those thoughts to the small, underdeveloped brains of the larvae that hung in the branches.
And then there was a bright red rain of Hell Butterfly caterpillars, right on the four leaf nin.
Or five, if you counted the invisible one that was following along.
Amari, having seen the caterpillars to begin with, had prepared to attack them. What the larvae didn't know, however, is that she was the leader of the fastest band of hunter-nin in the entirety of Konoha. Dropping the Ooi no Ankoku jutsu, Amari drew her katana and brought it round in a wide arc, cutting about twenty caterpillars clean in half.
"Hey, Kansuu," the one-eyed jounin said, grinning. "Long time, no see, eh?"
((Actually, if I'm not mistaken, Kusagakure is west of Konoha. Unless Kansuu and his little merry band (and Amari) have a bad sense of direction and are unknowingly getting themselves lost...they're going the wrong way! ^^''))

(Ooh...I stink at geography. Well, let's say Kansuu went the wrong way. He's bad at geography too.)
"AH!" The three Genin freaked out at the sight of the falling larvae, but then stood still as a silent sword cleanly sliced a bunch of them in two. Kansuu looked ahead, and grinned. "Ha ha, Amari! Good to see you. How have you been doing? And the Usagi Nottori? I heard there's been a new addition or two. Oh, hold on a second." Kansuu looked skyward to the cluster of caterpillers still falling, and opened his mouth. A stream of violet fire shot from his maw and incinerated another bunch of the bugs. "Whoo, it's a good thing you showed up, Amari. I thought that the Hell Butterflies were all black, but it looks like that red one was one too."

"I was doing a little recon..." Amari said, watching Kansuu burn a bunch of the caterpillars, sheathing her sword as she did so. Putting together about twenty hand signs in less than a second (she's extremely fast, if you remember), she opened her mouth (forming the words 'Kisoku no Ryuu' as she did so), and exhaled a huge blue flame in the shape of a dragon, burning a lot of the remaining larvae. "Alright, as I was saying," Amari began again, coughing a little and exhaling white-blue smoke from her nostrils, "I was doing a little recon, and I saw the Lohengrin woman turn one of the black Hell Butterflies into a red one. But she then vanished. Not even my Manako no Ankoku could pick her up. I'm not sure where she is, nor am I sure what the difference between the two colors of butterflies, but it certainly does NOT look any better than the originals... I highly suggest we get to Kusagakure quickly. If you didn't notice, Kansuu, you're leading your team to Kirigakure..." Laughing, the jounin leaped up into one of the trees that was now free of caterpillars. "In other words, you're going the completely wrong way..." Meanwhile, outside the walls of Kusagakure, a beautiful woman was walking through gardens filled with butterfly-attracting flowers. Numerous butterflies of all colors were flitting leisurely about her, occasionally landing upon a hand, a shoulder, or on the huge bun of black hair on her head. Plucking the ebony cigarette holder from her mouth, Mari blew a smoke ring that quickly took the shape of a butterfly. Smiling, Mari sat down on one of the marble benches in her garden and stretched her long, ivory-colored legs that peeked out from behind the loose skirt of her long butterfly kimono. Watching as a small, opalesque butterfly landed upon her shin, Mari reached out for the small butterfly, watching with a delighted smile as it crawled onto her finger, then lighted off of it and flitted off to a patch of beautiful yellow buttercups. Buttercups were always Mari's favorite flower...they meant to seek nothing. And that was just what Mari did. She didn't seek anything. She just watched as those who sought her came to her like moths to a flame...and those she found interest in...well, let's not go there just yet...

Kansuu blinked. "I knew that. I was going to...Kiri...in order to...um...think of an excuse." he stumbled. He then burst into laughter. ~Our sensei is an idiot.~ each Genin thought. Turning around, the group began to follow Amari in the correct direction. "I figured out an excuse for why I went east-I mean, I have an easier way to EXPLAIN why I went east. It's because I KNEW that Lohengrin woman was in the area, so I was...also doing recon. Heh heh heh..." he said hollowly. "Despite Kansuu-sensei's terrible attempt to cover his stupidity and ignorance of local geography, he makes a good point that we have learned something new about the Hell Butterflies, and what's more that there are some new, red ones that appear by coming in contact with Naahra herself." Oni pointed out.

Amari nodded, leaping from tree to tree, checking each limb she was about to land on for the larvae of the dreaded Hell Butterflies. Occasionally, she saw one or two flutter past, but did nothing to them, knowing that the Lohengrin woman would have a cow if she saw even one of her beloved Hell Butterflies dead. And, knowing how close Konoha was to utter disaster, she wanted to at least keep the Lohengrin woman on her good side...at least for a little while...
"Alright, Kansuu..." she said, listening to the scarecrow jounin's horrible excuse for going the completely wrong way, and rolled her eyes. "You're just lucky I showed up before you ended up taking your team all the way to Kiri..." Laughing, Amari grabbed hold of the limb she was on and swung herself upside down. "Say, am I going too slow for you? I can speed up if you want me to..."
Of course, what would be full speed for Kansuu and his team would be more like a leisurely walk for Amari. She could've easily been in Kusa with the time she used fighting the caterpillars and talking with Kansuu.
Swinging herself back up, Amari continued leaping forward. "And what you say, Oni, sounds about right. I saw her pet the butterfly when it landed on her, and it turned a bright red. I'm guessing that since it's the only one, that it must be more dangerous. Maybe it blows up instead of bursts into flame?" Shrugging, Amari scratched at her eyepatch. "Or maybe I'm wrong, but it's just a guess, all the same..."

"We're lucky you showed up before we got eaten by Hell Butterfly Larvae." Tsuta pointed out, dashing after the incredibly fast ninja. "Heh, I hope you can still pick up the pace. I thought you were moving too slowly!" Kansuu chuckled, holding his hat and beginning to leap faster, wordlessly challenging Amari to a race. "Oh no...Well we'll get there faster, I guess." Oni shrugged, chasing after his sensei. "Don't leave me out!" Tsuta called after him, using each branch to push her a little faster than normal. "Me too, me too!" Jinzou said, seeing everyone else get further and further. Totally swept up in the impromptu competition, the back of his suit extended into a pair of triangular wings with turbines. "Data Style: Jet Boost Jutsu!" The turbines whirred, and a green, energy vapor shot out from the backs. In an instant, he had shot past Tsuta and Oni, and was catching up to Kansuu quickly, who in turn was beginning to lose distance to Amari. She was a professional runner after all. But Jinzou had jet-powered flight on his side. "Idiot. He'll be out of chakra by the time we get to Kusa. Then what use will he be?" Oni said skeptically. "Eh. He'll be good for morale. And maybe he remembered to pack a few extra tanks." Tsuta replied.
Jinzou was having fun, but he didn't have much control of his speed. What made that a worry was that there were more Hell Butterfly larvae ahead. While Amari and Kansuu passed through easily, moving around the larvae, Jinzou smashed into the tree, and the larvae didn't seem to enjoy being jostled. The larvae began to screech, and that alerted the full grown Hell Butterflies to attention.
